Hotel Wailea

Join acclaimed local journalist Malia Mattoch as she delves into the intriguing past and present of Hotel Wailea, a glamorous escape in Maui. Featuring stunning original photography, this book captures the essence of this hidden boutique hotel, favored by celebrities and those seeking a serene Maui experience away from the crowds. Originally built in the 1980s as the Diamond member club, Hotel Wailea sits beautifully with the ocean at its feet and Haleakalā volcano at its back. Visionary developer McManus transformed the property into a tropical luxury village, prioritizing privacy and service over the typical beachfront model. Recognized as the No. 1 Hawaii resort in Travel + Leisure’s 2023 World’s Best Awards, Hotel Wailea is the first property to achieve this honor two consecutive years. It also features on the prestigious Travel + Leisure Top 500 World’s Best List for multiple years, including 2023.
